PORCH-Durham food primarily supports the Backpack Buddies and School Pantry Programs that have already been
established in Durham Public Schools by the Inter-Faith Food Shuttle . Currently, 670 elementary school students take
home BackPack Buddies, and 500 of those are filled with PORCH-Durham food . Additionally, school pantries at middle
and high schools and Durham Tech receive non-perishable foods and fresh fruits from Inter-Faith Food Shuttle twice a
month. Through food collections and grant funds, PORCH-Durham supports food pantries at The Durham Literacy
Center, Achievement Academy of Durham, Healthy Families Durham, The Boys & Girls Club of Greater Durham, and The
Whitted School, and also provides food donations to new Habitat for Humanity Durham homeowners.
